A new scheme has been launched in the UK after seeing success in the US and it offers people rewards based on the amount of household waste they are recycling. The scheme is called Recyclebank and it was initially stated back in 2009. The initial trials took place in Cheshire and Windsor and since the scheme was implemented the amount of recycling has increased by over 25% in the past year.

The scheme is something that is entirely voluntary but the uptake has been excellent, with around 60% of residents signing up to the scheme. The rewards that the residents are given are wide ranging and include gift vouchers to such popular stores as Marks & Spencer.

The rewards company is currently working in partnership with over 300 partners across the UK. Many of these are partners local to the area and the others are national, such as M&S. The organisation has a website where visitors can find out information about the different awards available and also find information about how they can improve the amount that they are recycling.

The company have been able to reach a wide range of customers and they have been able to increase their recycling figures significantly. It has been shown that those areas where the scheme is being implemented have seen a massive increase in the amount of recycling that has been taking place. One of the reasons why the uptake is thought to have been so popular is because people are being offered incentives of great rewards.

Recyclebank have partnered with some of the world’s largest companies, including Kelloggs, Coca Cola, Nestle and Johnson & Johnson. The rewards being offered are excellent and if you are interested in finding out more about the scheme and whether it is offered in your area, visit the website.
