Kent woman builds business from recycling Christmas cards

A woman from Kent has recently created a product out of reused, old Christmas greeting cards, with some of the proceeds being turned into as charity donations.

Gabrielle Argent, a Turnbridge Wells resident, says she had the proverbial light-bulb moment that pushed her to develop the idea for “Greeting Returns” and “Festive Returns”. Charities and stockists are now showing interest in her reused greeting cards.

Each pack contains 10 blank or pre-printed labels that come with envelopes to reuse and resend greeting cards that were previously received. The opaque label comes with a special adhesive that makes it easier to attach.

It is now possible to use and salvage attractive cards for the enjoyment of someone new. Every pack sells at £2.70, with a part of it sent to a charity as a donation. Different sizes will be available soon.

“No one likes to see beautiful cards go for pulp recycling, there is so much life left in them. I love the fact we can truly recycle the cards we have enjoyed and put a smile on someone’s face with the sentiment which says – I care about you and I care about the environment.” She says.
