The Government’s new boiler scrapping scheme has arrived. The scheme was initiated on January 5th, and it set out to aid people in replacing their ineffective boilers all around England. The Energy Saving Trust is running the scheme. According to the ENT, those who have “G” rated boilers with less than 70% efficiency can be eligible for up to £400 through the scheme.
There are many people who are unaware of the age or condition of their boilers. If one has a “A” rated boiler, their energy bill could be reduced by as much as £230 each year. Having an upgraded and new boiler can also help to reduce carbon emissions.
However, not everybody will be eligible for the scheme. It will be available for those who are located in a privately owned or rented residence. If you are under the age of 60, you can apply if your boiler is the main boiler that is heating the accommodation, and also if it is currently in a working condition. For those over the age of 60, applications can be submitted even if the boiler is not in working order.
