Darlington Community Carnival visitors will be encouraged to reduce, reuse and recycle their waste to go green. For the fourth consecutive year the Making Waste Work Campaign of the Darlington Borough Council’s is sponsoring the carnival with Co-op Membership.
Members of the Recycling and Street Scene teams of the council will attend the carnival Saturday and hand out advice about recycling more and reducing the waste people create. Friends of the Earth and the King’s Church Furniture Recycling Scheme and other environmental groups will also be attending.
It’s a Good Life is the theme of the carnival this year and visitors are encourages to go green and make their life and everyone else’s better. Stanhope Park will see the start of the parade as it leaves at noon. Community groups who have been working from across Darlington with local artists to ensure the event is full of creativity and color. There are free family activities and entertainment in the Park from 11am to 5pm.
